Top Performing Medical Schools in the Philippines

Having a professional medical degree is not that easy and most people know that. Before earning an M.D. title, one needs to go through a lot of trials and that includes getting a bachelor’s degree on some of the pre-medical courses like biology, pharmacy, psychology, nursing and physical therapy. Other than that, one also has to pass the National Medical Association Test which is a per-requisite of all medical institutions in the Philippines.

Well, going through those phases with flying colors doesn’t mean that you’re ready to take your steps to the field of medicine. Remember that you have to know which school would best provide you a quality education. To help you out in picking the perfect institution for you, here are some school reviews:

The PLM, although a not-so-popular university if you will talk about other courses, is still one of the top-rated medical schools in the Philippines. The institution earned high credibility in terms of honing the future medical practitioners of the country. Why not, this school is always in pursuit of excellence. The good thing about PLM is it’s public-funded by the City of Manila. This allows the medical students to have a lower tuition fee despite the costly medical education. In return, every Physician Licensure Examination passer is required to be a part of the City’s Count-Me-In-Program which renders public service.

University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center
Aurora Boulevard, Quezon City
Phone: 713-3302

It was the year 1957 when the Department of Medicine was established by Dr. Gonzalo F. Austria. Since then, the department boosted its quality in providing medical education. If you have already enrolled in this school, have in mind that you might have a lot of vacant time. It might come on your end to do something else rather than to study about difficult subjects like Anatomy and BioChem. During simulation and exercises like dissecting cadavers, make sure that you participate because application is the highest extent of learning. If you don’t practice what you are learning in lectures, then you will not be able to understand the real world of medicine.

These schools might be different when it comes to imparting medical knowledge but one thing’s for sure, no matter what university you attend, as long as you’re putting your best effort to learn, you will turn out to be a very skillful doctor someday.
